Hard to say I'm Sorry!

HARD TO SAY I’M SORRY!

Over the years we have dealt with many clients who have been involved in accidents at work, be it a single accident or injury which has occurred over a period of time due to poor systems of work or exposure to unsafe conditions which have resulted in occupational disease.

One of the most common complaints we hear is that if the client’s employer had simply said sorry then the client would not have made a claim.  This is an understandable reaction when an injured party has given many years loyal service to an employer who has perhaps reacted in a way which causes additional stress and upset to an employee who, having sustained injury, is already feeling hurt and vulnerable.

Of course, it would truly be a drastic step to simply write off the right to pursue a legitimate claim in exchange for a full apology for whatever wrongdoing the employer has done which has resulted in injury to the employee.

sorry!

Most clients feel disappointed and abandoned when, despite their commitment to the employers business, which may have been over many years, the employer fails to provide that personal service in providing help and assistance to the employee at a time when it is needed the most.

Ultimately the decision is yours – personal injury means simply that – injury which is to your person, but remember the pain and suffering and upset to feelings is personal to you.

Whatever the circumstances of your accident it is essential that you seek comprehensive legal advice about what options are available to you.

Some employers are willing to consider the needs of injured employees sympathetically and at Handley Brown we can guide you through the process and ensure that you receive the right advice for you when you need it most.

We offer free initial advice to all our personal injury clients and represent the vast majority of our clients on a No Win No Fee basis.  We are also on hand to assist and advise you if you find yourself in difficulties with your employer following an accident at work.

Over the coming months we are going to look at examples of accidents at work and what you can do to avoid the risk of injury in the workplace
